WASHINGTON — March On and Future Coalition are proud to announce that the #VoteWithUs campaign is nominated for Best Virtual & Remote: Public Service & Activism in the 25th Annual Webby Awards. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet. 

#VoteWithUs, a mass movement designated to turn out the biggest early vote America has ever seen during the 2020 elections, brought together hundreds of affiliates and partners across all 50 states with the common goal of increasing voter engagement in the 2020 general election and Georgia Senate runoffs.

Highlights include:

  • Star-studded online rally with 18 billion social media impressions
  • 600,000 calls and texts to voters
  • 75,000 grassroots small-dollar donations 
  • $50,000 in small grants for local organizers
  • 13 bus stops in 8 states to reach a quarter of a million voters
  • 11 successful races and initiatives
  • A bilingual website with up-to-the-minute voting and election information across all 50 states

The #VoteWithUs campaign shifted our power from protests to the polls, where we unleashed our voices to create the future we’ve been demanding,” said Vanessa Wruble, Executive Director of March On. “March On and Future Coalition have been mobilizing people for the past four years via the women’s marches, the climate strikes, and, for the 2018 Midterms, the youth Walkout To Vote and the March On The Polls. We took our experience and put it into mobilizing people for the #VoteWithUs campaign, where we focused on getting young voters and communities of color to the polls during the early voting period, and we’re proud of our success.”

“Young people were incredibly engaged in the 2020 election because they understood the stakes,” said Katie Eder, Executive Director of Future Coalition. “The #VoteWithUs campaign played a meaningful role in communicating the power of voting as a means to change the course of the future, and we reached millions of voters with this message.”

As a nominee, #VoteWithUs by March On and Future Coalition is also eligible to win a Webby People’s Voice Award, which is voted online by fans across the globe. From now until May 6th, fans can cast their votes at vote.webbyawards.com.

“Nominees like #VoteWithUs by March On and Future Coalition are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said Claire Graves, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. “It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 13,500 entries we received this year.”

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, and honored in a star-studded, virtual show that will be available on demand. The celebration will be hosted by multi-talented actress, writer, podcaster, host and advocate Jameela Jamil. Winners will have an opportunity to deliver one of The Webby Awards’ famous 5-Word Speeches. Past 5-Word Speeches include: Steve Wilhite’s “It’s Pronounced “Jif” not ‘Gif’; NASA’s “Houston We Have A Webby”; and Solange’s “I Got Five On It.
