MARCH ON Enters Virginia

Volunteer Actions Announced, Digital Ad Released

Today, MARCH ON announces a final blitz of actions to support its local affiliate in getting out the vote in Virginia’s Tuesday elections.

Vanessa Wruble, Executive Director of MARCH ON, said, “Winning in Virginia is the first step in a long process of putting our country on a better path forward. The politics we are seeing from the right-wing in Virginia is an extension of Donald Trump’s brand of divisive politics, replete with racially-tinged and xenophobic dog whistles around Confederate monuments and non-existant ‘sanctuary cities.’ All Americans should be alarmed and take whatever actions they can to defeat any politicians espousing this type of vitriol.”

Stair Calhoun, the Executive Director of MARCH ON affiliate Network NoVA, said, “We are in an all-hands-on-deck situation in Virginia. Having the backing of a national organization with the reach of MARCH ON to support our local efforts is tremendously helpful. Local actions undertaken by MARCH ON affiliates across the country and amplified by the strong national organization is a powerful model for success for winning elections at all levels and we are pleased to be the first such collaboration for MARCH ON.”

MARCH ON’s Fight Back PAC, its grassroots-funded Super PAC, released this GOTV digital ad, to run on Facebook for the final few days of the election, encouraging everyone to “March On The Polls” and vote. Supporters have been asked to donate funds to help run this ad:

MARCH ON is calling on its supporters to participate in phone banks, likely-voter texting programs and, for MARCH ON’s Virginia residents, participate in final weekend canvassing.
